Greek word for angel is Angelos.The Hebrew word for angel is mal`ach meaning messenger and is commonly described as beings who execute the will of the Lord. Holy angels are messengers of God, serving Him and fulfilling the purpose for which they are created.
The three archangels are: Michael, Gabriel and Rafael. Other names of angels known to religion are: Uriel, Raguel, Sariel and Jeremiel. Barachiel, Azriel, Cassiel, Grigori, Harut and many many more names that span religions such as Christianity, Judiusm, Islam, Buddhist(call them Devas), and Mormonism.
